Bilingual (Mandarin)

Two’s Program

Empire Montessori’s Evergreen and Fremont locations offer full immersion bilingual (mandarin) programs.

We offer two’s programs at all of our 5 locations:
Downtown San Jose, Evergreen San Jose (Bilingual), Fremont (Bilingual), Willow Glen San Jose, and Pleasant Hill

Our bilingual two’s program classrooms provide a safe and comfortable environment for your child to become familiar with order, patterns, and languages. During the two’s years, children are eager to apply language skills and are eager to start doing things by themselves, thereby developing a sense of self-efficacy.

Our bilingual two’s rooms welcome children ages 2-3 years old

Hot lunch is available and made daily for children who can eat solid food.

The Curriculum

The Empire Montessori Bilingual two’s curriculum is carefully prepared to aid your children in achieving independence. The children are immersed in English and Chinese, which are spoken interchangeably to them. The children easily absorb simple words and phrases from both languages. Social interaction with the other children, development of the language skills, music and movement activities are the main key points. The curriculum also includes activities that allow young children to develop fine and gross motor coordination and visual discrimination through the sense and learning materials. Mandarin is taught daily by Montessori certified teachers.

We provide an emphasis on facilitating rather than directing learning, by considering the child’s level of knowledge and promoting the child’s intellectual health with uninterrupted focus time. Our classrooms are safe settings of exploration and discovery. We choose approachable and purposeful Montessori materials that are aimed at the development of fine motor skills, language development, and arts and crafts. All of our Montessori jobs are based on real-life, to help your child develop practical life skills and absorb the world around us. Some materials include knobbed cylinders, rainbow stacking rings, and realistic safari animals.

Language Development

The Montessori philosophy acknowledges that there is a huge expansion into language during this stage. Your child develops a capacity to create symbols, images, and concepts and becomes aware of himself/herself as a separate and independent person. Many parents report that their children learn big words easily and with pleasure - which results in more fun and positive interactions by being able to express their needs through words instead of through tantrums.

Our unique goal-based curriculum focuses on simple yet fundamental goals. One is for a child to have a mastery of phonics and letters. We practice phonics daily and provide 1 phonic worksheet per week.

Mastering Toilet Training

Done the Montessori way, mastering toilet training is a focus during our program. The bathrooms are set up to give the child as much independence as possible.
